Simplicity

Life can be an adventure and when that happens, we get caught up in it!  We run, run, and run, never slowing down to recognize that we got to much going on. We feel like the more we do, the more we are accomplishing. Better yet the more we do for others, the more we want to please others by keeping them satisfied. The truth of the matter is, the more you do, the more you are going to try to do and nothing you want to do is being accomplished.   Don’t get me wrong, doing is not the problem. It’s how much of what you are doing is necessary and is it bringing God the glory?

Doing to much can take you off course and take you away from your purpose in life.

Let’s keep it simple by doing some simple addition and subtraction.  Let’s add the things we need to accomplish and subtract the things that are of less importance.

Life can be more fulfilling when we commit ourselves to what’s important. Not the twenty things we might have going on that are not.. Simplify your life and focus on your goals.

Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith Hebrews 12:1-2

Visualize

Look at your present life and determine what’s important.

Identify

Is your every act necessary ?

Is your every act pleasing to God?

Are you trying to rack up points in heaven by doing?

Is too much getting in the way?

Are you keeping it simple and relying on God?

Apply

Make a list of the necessities and a list of your desires.

Which one of these is keeping you from your goals?

Blessings,

This is a lesson that I wish I had learned earlier in life. You don’t have to do everything nor do your kids. Learning to say no is very important. Learning that you don’t need all the stuff is important. A simple life frees you to be a better you.

    Great Day!
I completed the Apply exercise. I have concluded that my work and need to take care of myself is keeping me from completing other goals that I know are in my future ( writing, website, business). I am going to work on simplifying and sacrificing to get it done. I know it’s coming I just need to be more strategic. Right?

“Life can be an adventure and when that happens, we get caught up in it!”—This is true and it does make for One to easily get off course AND focus for/towards whats MOST important…and that’s GOD.

Thank you for the follow-up with Scripture: Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith Hebrews 12:1-2…

it helps; because there’s always the need to take time out to “slow-down”, re-group and ACKNOWLEDGE our PURPOSE for all of our running around and what often times feels like this “roller-coaster ride”, we call life! 😉
