Moving Forward

Have you ever had to move? Was it hard? Did everything go as planned? Moving can be hard. Needless to say when the times come we have to pack up all our things, and make sure everything is in its place and that every box is packed just right. The only problem is we dread it, agonize over it and ultimately would rather not do it.  You probably thought it would have been easier just to stay where you were.

Moving requires that you get up and take action. The end result is a new destination.  But when the time comes for you to finally move to that destination you don’t want to do it and make excuses as to why you can’t do it. Why? We become fearful, scared and insecure. Many times it’s because we think we may fail or don’t believe in ourselves.  The truth is, you are in your own way. When you realize that you are in the way, all you need to do is get you, out of the way and move forward. God has purposely placed in your life a destination that you must obtain.  But to get there you have to allow him to take you there.

Moving forward in life can be hard. Especially if the move is going to require that you get up and do something. That move may also be too difficult and you don’t want to bear with what the move will do to you mentally and physically.

When you walk, your steps will not be hindered

Proverbs 4:12

Take a moment and identify with your situation and truly visualize where moving can take you. If you can see it, you can obtain it.  Take the following plan below and move forward to your destiny.

List reasons why you don’t want to move forward.

List reasons why moving forward would benefit you.

Write down how this affects you.

1.  From your list create your action plan to move forward.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

2.  Find support to help you move through this plan (family member, friend, co-worker)

3.  Finally-Move Forward

What are you overlooking?

Life can be really hectic at times. So hectic, that we find ourselves rushing.   In that rush we tend to overlook things that are right in front of us. That something may be your keys, wallet, purse or even paperwork.  Regardless of what we are looking for, no matter how hard we look we can’t seem to find it.  Needless to say after all that looking, what you were looking for was either right where you left it or you simply overlooked it.

I can honestly say that there have been times when I was looking for something and couldn’t find it.  But when I didn’t need it, it is right there in front of me. Take a moment and think of what it is you are looking for.  Are you trying to find your purpose and destiny? Are you trying to find your ideal mate? Are you looking for another job or career?

Whatever the case may be, what you are looking for may be right in front of you. Why? You are overlooking what’s there.  We search and search the world only to find that what we need is right there in front of you. We don’t want to accept the fact that our needs are right in front of our faces. Are you overlooking your friends? Are you overlooking family?  Stop overlooking and look at the place you are in right now. It may be the place God wants you to be. It may be the place God wants to bless you. (Right where you are). Your mate may be standing right in front of you. Your destiny may be right in front of you. Your purpose may be right in front of you……..

And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind, and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire, and after the fire a still small voice. I Kings 19:11-12

Start today and look where you are right now.  Thank God for what you have and ask him to show you what you are overlooking.

Remember every day is a new day to begin again. Your life begins today…………..

Think of the things you are trying to pursue…..dreams, purpose, destiny, career…..

Examine your place right now. What are you overlooking?

How can you make sure you don’t overlook what’s in front of you?  What will be your action plan?

What have your heard lately?

Have you ever noticed what others say around you? Have you ever thought about what others have said? Did it affect you? Did you alter your way of thinking because of what you heard them say? Or did something they said change your point of view?

Our world is full of hearsay and often we go by what we hear.  Even in the news we depend on the reporters to inform us of what is going on in the world. But what happens when there is error in what someone has said. You now have rooted in you something you heard but have no way of changing the thought because the error you heard was not corrected.

How often is error corrected on the news? How do you know for sure that what you are hearing is truth? There is one book that is error proof and that is the bible.

The things that you hear often will take root in your spirit, regardless of whether you meant for it to or not.  That is why it is necessary to take what you hear and confirm it. Don’t just take what you hear at face value. Proverbs 1: 5 states: a wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.

Always confirm what you hear. This way mistakes and errors will be few and far between. What you hear can hinder you. Therefore be careful about what you allow to reach your spirit. Start today and be careful about the things that you hear.

Every day is a new day to begin again. Your life begins today…………………..

This week’s task

Think about the many things you have heard and how it has affected your way of thinking.

What are the errors in your thoughts and your ways of thinking?

Is your way of thinking hindering you?

Has what you been hearing hindering you?

What can you do to control what you hearing?

What can you do to make that happen?

Strength for the struggle

Strength is what we need when difficult situations or events arise that may be distressing.  But where does our strength come from?  How do we rejuvenate ourselves when it feels like the fire is gone? The answer is simple. Look up!

Life can bring about struggles.   It’s in those times that you need strength for the struggle. You need something or someone to hang on to in order to get through those hard times. Struggles can also be more than we want to bear but God who is rich in his mercies gives us strength for the struggle.

You may be struggling in your finances, life, home or even in your relationships. Regardless of the struggle, God will give you strength for your struggle. He will give you just what you need to go on.  God doesn’t expect you to do anything all by yourself.  It is through him that you live, move and breathe.

You may be tired of struggling, but hang on in there because God has the strength you need.  Don’t let the enemy defeat you!  Truth is your struggle will make you stronger.

God is our refuge and strength an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:10

Everyday is a new day to begin again.  Your life begins today……………

Believe that God will give you strength

Think about your struggles. What makes this struggle so hard? What can you do about it?  What or who would make it easier for you to bear? How can you make the struggle less stressful?

Write in your journal your thoughts. Make an action plan. The power is in you!
